Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef or chicken (approx 1 lb)
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 small piece of ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 green chilli minced
  • 1 tbsp garammasala
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Sieve the flour with salt and knead into soft dough with milk and a little water.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tsp of oil and fry ginger, garlic and green chilies.
  4. Add the onions and the garammasala. Fry until the onions are well browned.
  5. Add the ground beef or chicken and cook for 10–15 minutes or until fully cooked.
  6. Divide the dough into equal sized balls and flatten each ball with a rolling pin.
  7. Place a tablespoon of the ground beef or chicken mixture and gather edges to cover.
  8. Dampen the edges of the dough with a drop of water and pinch together to seal.
  9. Now flatten the "ball" of dough again with rolling pin. Repeat with the remaining dough balls and filling.
  10. Apply oil to each side and fry in flat pan until golden brown on each side.
  11. Serve hot with KFI Mint Sauce.
