Matar Paneer (Cheese & Green Peas Curry)

An Indian dish consisting of paneer (cheese) and peas in a sweet and spicy sauce. Some people also add “aloo” (potato) to it. It is similar to Palak Paneer (paneer with spinach). It is usually served with an Indian type of bread (Naan, paratha, poori, or roti depending on region). It is usually served as North Indian (Punjab) food.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup cubed paneer
  • ½ cup green peas
  • 1 jar KFI Vegetable Curry Sauce
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp 35% whipping cream (optional)
  • ¼ cup of chopped cilantro
Instructions
  1. Heat the tbsp of oil in a saucepan and add the green peas
  2. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the KFI Vegetable Curry Sauce to the green peas and mix well.
  4. Simmer for 3 minutes.
  5. Add the paneer and mix well. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
  6. For added flavour add a 1 tbsp of 35% whipping cream.
  7. Garnish with chipped cilantro or light swirls of 35% whipping cream.
  8. Serve over a bed of basmati rice or with naan bread.
